Finding type in my surnoundings proved to be
hard at first but after some time I was able to
see all componets for a typeface in my day to
day life.
Making an Alphabet
I tired a few diffrent colection of items before setteling
on my final theme. My wife and I spent hour just playing
with silverware, pencils, and anything around our
house to try and make an alphabet.
Finding my theme
While looking for example in my day to day I was
slowly leaning tword a made oposed to found alphabet.
When I came to this conclusion I starting looking
for things I could use. Everything from art supplies to
kitchen gadgets. I finaly concluded to use books because
of my love for reading and beauty of the items themself.
In Conclusion
I think that this made me really seek out what makes a
type face. It made me think out side my bot and if I take
what I learned from our reading. Jack Foster gave great
relevant insights in a way that is easy to understand and
relate to. For example the comparison of ideas
to making a meal.
Often we have to take all the requirements
given to us by a client or employer and
make something that meets them and is also
aesthetically pleasing.
I think this book will give great insight into the process of
designing and look forward to the next few chapters. If I
can take all the componets I was able to see and
document in this project it is just that many more ingrediants
to a good design.
